Ok so I didn't get much time to test it really. Overall it feels very solid, the leverage action seems like you'd be able to get a lot of grip and power out of the pliers. Sorry the pics are poor but I only had my small camera. The knife is sharp, shaved arm easily but it is only ground on one side, would have prefered both. Besides that the build quality seems excelent. This one was my bosses and I'll be getting one for myself now as well as well as a few of the other techs in my company.

I will test out the punch tools, cat 5 stripper and the rest of the features this week and update the thread. any questions?

and some pics:

If you get a chance, test how the wire cutters and strippers do on various sizes of wire and cable. I'm curious to see how well it cuts. Thanks!

Another quick question - it looks like the cat5 cutters took the place of the crimpers on the powerlock version?

ok guys I'll test that out and I'm not sure where the crimper was on the powerlock but I'm going to guess that, yes, the cat5 stripper took place of the crimper.

I bought from www.datacomtools.com for ~$88

Neat photos! Thanks.

I see an improvement of the Paladin PT-525 over the SOG S60 PowerLock. The side pieces which hold the two PT-525 halves together at the pliers end are shaped to shield the sharp "gear teeth." The exposed teeth can cause the S60 to shred a pocket or a cloth holster.

My PowerLock is engraved SOG USA on the plier jaws, but I didn't see the letters USA in any of the PT-525 photos.

ooooooo aaaahhhhhh ok..ok i'm going to get one, leave it to sog to
put out a electrician tool, i thought leatherman was going to do it first

Now that it's been out for a few months, does anyone have any new remarks on this tool? I'd be interested in hearing how well the cable strippers work, the punch down tools, etc.

Go here. You can select each handle, plier head, etc. to get a detailed view of all implements included as well as a brief description. Hope this helps.
