Namaste everybody.
I have more khukuris in the air and I need storage space. Here are some good khukuris at good prices. Please take a look. I will guarantee all of them with our standard guarantee. We have had pretty good luck with these village models. Maybe one in 40 or 50 does not stand up but we can live with this percentage and have replaced any knife that did not do well, including one with a broken handle although we said we did not guarantee handles. In truth, we do.
top -- Another short sword -- 19 inches, blade just over 5/16 thick and 1 & 3/8 wide. Weight 1lb, 4 oz. Scrollwork but no brass inlay. Blade pretty well hardened. Finish good.
Pala's Special price $65
second from top -- A village Gelbu Special model -- excellent knife. 17 inches, blade about 5/16 thick at back, about 1.5 wide, and weight 14 oz. Very nicely hardened. Finish good. My personal favorite of this bunch.
Pala's special price $60
third from top -- Broad blade Chiruwa -- almost 16 inches in length, blade thickness 3/8, 2 & 1/4 inches wide, weight 1 lb, 8 oz. Good strong knife but finish is not as fine as top two.
Pala's special price $55
fourth from top --Interesting knife but one that I would not have personally bought-- I do not know where this came from. I think Gelbu bought it. It appears to be standard military issue and is marked "Gorkha Army" but not by us. Somebody in the shop stamped a serial number of 101 on this knife which they should not have done. Knife is 15.25 in length, blade thickness is almost 3/8 thick and 1.75 wide. Weight is 1 lb and 3 oz. Standard mil finish. In my opinion not the best quality and would not recommend this knife for heavy use. In heavy lateral stress the blade will probably bend.
Pala's special price -- $40
Bottom -- In Nepal this is called a "balance" khukuri. It is 13 inches in length, blade is about 5/16 thick, 1 and 3/8 wide and weighs only 11 oz. This is light and quick and very manuverable. Nice scroolwork and brass inlay. Personally, I like this little knife because it feels so good in the hand.
Pala's special price $65
Scabbards are very good quality for village knives. If I knew which sarkis made these scabbards I would hire them.
Call or email Bill Jwai if you want one of these above khukuris. I will pay the shipping costs, too.
Thank you for looking.
