if you are in to more rustic traditional ethnic type folders this might interest you .
i didn't find many reviews so thought id chip in my 2cents ( micro review ? ).

this is a Pallares Solsona slip-joint from Spain ..liner-less plastic handle version .
Ive seen pics of wooden handled and horn / bone handled versions with liners and brass pins that look much nicer .

they are available in several sizes , this one sports a slender 1/16 carbon steel blade FF ground with convex edge .
4'' cutting edge and slightly over 1'' widest part of blade over all length open of 4 3/4''.
in the hand the blade to handle ratio feels 50/50 actually the blade feels big for the handle , if you know what i mean ?

it has an adequate spring and half stop . plastic edges are rough , spring sticks out a bit very slight blade play side to side everything you'd expect from a cheap farmer / peasant knife ! however its very charming IMO .

ultra light weight ! great for food prep and light tasks carbon steel picked up a super sharp edge .
I have wanted one of these for a while and so far happy with it riding in my wallet , i love the leaf blade shape and the handle ergos feel comfy (after i de burred the edges lol )

lots of history with this classic shape very old pattern i think , the company also makes kitchen knives that look sweet .

anyways heres some pics ....

hope you like .

Thank you for your review. I have been looking at these knives for a while. I am going to Spain in a couple of months, and will keep my eyes open for one of these knives.

cool ! yeah I'm pretty sure the company is still producing them .
the horn handle ones look really nice , i've put mine though its paces cutting fruit making dinner and cutting up some boxes .
starting to get a patina .
good luck on your travels .

Excellent. I do like these rustic knives, as you rightfully call them. This one reminds me of the Aitor Castor, which is also on my list.
Thank you for your review!

i totally want one of those Aitor's , something about the leaf shape . maybe thats why i like my spyderco knives too .

I picked mine up a market apparently new for 10 euro . I think there are several shapes and sizes as well as handle materials . Made short work of a rather large watermelon today with no worries !! Im a big fan of this knife .
Good luck finding one !
