I just received my Sanu made 20" chiruwa Sirupati that I got as an UBDOTD last Thursday. I forget who got the Kesar made one, but I agree with him, and mine is also a sturdy beastie. I didn't know what to expect though since this is my first chiruwa style khukuri, unless you want to count my AC genuine government issue. I don't. My first impression is that I love this khukuri. I have a one with regular handles, but this one takes the cake. It's supposed to be heavier, but I can't tell. I think that for this style khukuri, chiruwa handles are the way to go. It makes the sirupati less blade heavy and more neutrally balanced. It would make a better weapon I think.
Like I said earlier Sanu made this blade. No complaints, although I must admit that his Sword of Shiva could use some improvement. Although Sanu's blademaking skills are up there with Bura's I feel he still has some ways to catch up in the engraving department.
In case you didn't know, the term "pana butta" is a synonym for "chiruwa," the handle style with slabs.
