hi
i have been looking at barongs, but cam across this huge mean chopper: http://www.psdtc.com/Filipino.Panabas.htm

it looks like a very serious blade. has anyone bought this, or had experience with it from these sellers? i have heard they make good blades, bit pricey though. have also bought some "chisel file stones", they are like a whetstone you can use one handed, my preferance. various grits, tooks hours to find them. cheapa aswell! and a norton combi india stone.

Dang it sure is perty. I like a lot of the other asian ethnic weapons, but can't afford more than one virus right now.

It looks authentic, and I know they have several great shops in the Phillipines. The price is right as well. I also have been looking for a Barong. Dave Rishar has a CS Barong, that he etched and it has impressive temper lines, and the price on those is very reasonable as well.

I would defer to people with lots more expertise on ethnic blades than me to comment on this one. I know Steve Ferguson probably has at least one of this model.
