Whoever gets that bowie should be really happy with the hamon.

Teehee.

Gorgeoous profile too.

So yer from Bleaksburg, huh??? :D Was there from '78 to '84...

Didn't have much of an interest in collecting back then, but if I'd have seen that piece way back when, I might have even taken up forging! Especially if I had a chance to learn what you're doing, cause you've got one very nice blade there!!! First off, I love the blade shape - my favorite style! Second, you've got some really interesting stuff going on in that steel... I take it it's the result of clay coating? From what I understand, to get that much activity, you've been practicing for awhile! And thirdly, that is some very attractive wood!
My only other thought on this piece is that I would personally have preferred an oval guard... But either way, someone is going to get a very nice knife!!

 Good to have you posting again,Matt.
Another great looking Bowie, amazing cloud-like hamon and the quilted maple is very striking as well.

Matt great to see you posting again, I was beginning to think you became a victim of law school. :D

Great looking knife - beautiful wood.

Keep up the good work - Happy New Year!

Terrific looking piece. I really like the blade profile, and the hamon reminds
me of heat lightning.

Thinks for showing...

Matt, do you go to Va Tech?
One of my daughters graduated last year, and the other is in her second year. Great school.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Kevin, I do not go the VA Tech. My parents have a place about ten minutes from the school. If you're in town (and I'm there too ;)) you're welcome to stop by.

Doesn't look much like a pancake to me. :p :D

Looks like just another awesome knife by Matt Roberts to me. :)

Great knife Matt  !

I really love that blade ... and the handle ... and actually just everything else about it ;).

Your progress over the last one and a half years is just amazing.

I wish I would have put more time in knifemaking, so I could at least produce something that is halfway close to the awesome blades you're turning out lately. Well I guess I'll just stop the whining now  .

Again, great knife Matt :) .

Regards,
Marcus
