In June of this year, managed to get out to the woods with my brother, and two friends who met us out there.
There has been someone who periodically goes through the area and destroys the site. Don't know who, as the people who live around the area have been supportive of the site whenever we have met them. But whatever; we just reconstruct the fire pit, build a new bench, and get to it:
Ian finds his way out there:
Toads!!!
Ian found the last toad, and it is his Spyderco.
Let's get grilling!
You may or may not have seen the single greatest innovation in bushcraft for the last decade, so I will highlight in this photo...The Bushcraft Paper Towel Roll Bench Attachment!!!
It is super handy, and with the paper towel roll holder on one end of the bench and a garbage bag at the other, it makes hygiene super easy.
Someone reaches towards the amazing innovation:
Here are some cutting implements of the day:
Looking good.
Night fire:
Trail toad on the walk out:
A good day, and the knives worked well for what they had to do.
It was pretty dry out (till the huge rain at the end of the day), and there had been many storms since last we were out, so dry wood was easy to find. No batonning needs for the day.
Pretty relaxed, and a good example of why we all like sharp things.
