Does any one still offer a paper catalog besides A.G. Russel & Smokey mountan. I miss flipping through a good knife catalog. Also good for reference.

Most major knife companies have paper catalogs available. You just have to ask or know where to look. I have 2007 catalogs for Case, Spyderco, Benchmade and Boker already. I imagine I could get catalogs for Buck and Kershaw pretty easily. And a Cold Steel catalog is easy to come by, if you're interested in such things.

I don't think Buck has a catalog (I've looked ans couldn't find it).

Ka-Bar and Blackhawk/MOD have, or had, catalogs.

Yeah, but for a industry wide view, AG and Smoky are about what is left.

Paper is expensive to set up, print, distribute, and has a poor return on the effort. I've got AG's catalogs for years longer than I think I have deserved for the amount I've spent, but they keep coming. Smokey dropped me in less than a year, so I ask now and then.

Individual makers catalogs are great for the hidden knives and accessories you never knew existed, but it takes contacting each one separately to get them. There are dozens (which is nice.)

I remember the Cutlery Shoppe catalogs as expecially nice for the tactical offerings in the beginning of that trend.

...and the SMKW catalog is mostly Rough Rider and SMKW-associated knives.

Thank goodness for AG! He's even been sending me Russell for Men catalogs, which are also cool.

And he asks questions around here about what we would like to see in his catalog! Very cool.

And the cost of shipping these catalogs is going up 40%. Who can afford this size rate hike and still have money for R&D? You might want to hold on to the ones you have just in case they are not offered anymore.

Every once in a while you can find a difinitive catalog on sale for about $11 shipped. I try to buy that every few years to keep as a reference. It's not actually a catalog you can order from, at least that I know of. It's all at retail pricing. They usually have everything, except Benchmade, and Chris Reeves.

I agree on the A. G. Russell Catalogs. Best photography, excellent layout, and wonderful descriptions. My brother knows the guy who puts those together, and it's a full-time job!

I remember the Cutlery Shoppe catalogs also. In-fact I still have a few somewhere. I have a 2007 buck /gerber/benchmade & I think cold steel. cost aside the old catalogs were great.

For a broader multi-dealer catalog you might want to try MOTENG they seem to sell from everyone but i dont know if the Catalogs are available for us non-dealers

Paper catalogs? Sure thing! Old cutlery catalogs are the best reference for anything from tech specs. to retail pricing. In fact I would say that they are a collectable item as well; especially so if they are yearly catalogs from the cutlery manufacturers themselves. Wholesale catalogs are generally thick and given the load full of entirely low end products, may not be worth the cost of paper 'n printing plus shipping out yearly in the long run. But such catalogs do add to the general knife buyers knowledge, it's a real tip-off for the budding knife collector in what to avoid concerning future buys of discontinued products. BTW, try looking out for retailers catalog CD-ROMs put out by some manufacturers. They are much easiers on the environment and living space!

In addition to those already mentioned:

Gerber sent a small 13 or so page catalog that gives a general overview of their entire product line.

SOG sent small fold-up flyer giving a general overview of their product line.

KnifeCenter has an 800 page catalog detailing their selection for sale.
Here.

Brigade Quartermaster does a annual or bi-annual catalog that features general military gear with a pretty decent knife selection.

Basspro does the same.

Cabela's has a master catalog that is yearly (I think).

Surefire flashlights also has a catalog that features their lights and knives.

William Henry Fine knives has a nice catalog. It comes with a DVD also.

600 page catalog?!? I bet that will sell out soon.

Just the thing to browse on a wintry evening 20 years from now to remember the good ol days.

Boker USA/ Magnum has an awsome catalog. You can request one by phone or online.

Every year the gun mag's have a buyer's guide like to see that for knives. Guess I can get the Knives annual .

I got benchmade, SOG, and Kershaw full catalogs at the Blade show. They are good, especially since "just browsing" on BM and Kershaws websites is kind of difficult.
