How does paper micarta feel in use? Slick when wet? What do you think?

Yes, I would like to know how it compares in FEEL to G-10 since the black G-10 looks similar to black paper.

To me black paper feels sort of like an in-between G10 and other materials like linen or even canvas.

G10 has a very plastic feel in comparison to black paper, and while it doesn't have piles of grip, it doesn't feel as harsh to me as G10 does. Black paper almost feels sort of soft in hand.

Can't comment on it's grip while wet.

I agree with this statement and will add that some G-10 when it is wet can get very slippery. Black paper absorbs the moisture and maintains it's grip factor a little better.

I would say in general that micarta of any sort offers better grip than g-10. G-10 is like a solid heavy resin, and does not absorb any liquid.

it's not to bad when wet, the grip is still there. even with blood on it you still get a solid grip. now it's not as grippy as canvas, but it does look alot better. yes it does chip on the edge's and high spot's of the slab. that just give's it some personality.

Durability was another question. I was concerned about chipping...

Interesting view on handles:

"A lot of these synthetic handle materials are very tough. Some are tougher then the knives they are on. I use a sledge to see if I can destroy the handles and it just bounces off some of the tough ones.

canvas Micarta, G-10. they very tough. Micarta handles non canvas are not very tough
They will shatter compared to the canvas ones."

I dunno about Paper, other than loving the look of it in Black, but if it's grippier than G10 then you're good to go. I've used my ASH with G10 dozens of times when wet and while I suppose it could be even grippier, it's plenty good wet or cold.

Also - I've thrown my ASH many many times, and it's only even gotten a couple of small chips in the G10, so overall you really have to try to destroy this stuff and I imagine Paper isn't any less durable in any material sense.

my ten cents...
