Paper micarta or G10?

If I recall , black paper is more black and has a slight sandpaper feel to it. The g10 is smoother and has slight grayish to it. Black paper also hasn’t been around for awhile, so model knife could help determine which it is.
Hope this helps , I’m sure others will be along with more info.

I am fairly sure it is black paper but want to avoid misrepresentation.
Thanks for the reply

Yup, paper Micarta.

Paper Micarta has a MUCH finer texture which equates into sharper definition with the CNC milling of the handles.

With G10, the weave of the fibers is fairly evident even without magnification.

With even just a little magnification, it's very apparent the difference between the 2.

Once you compare the 2 materials and get used to them, you'll be able to spot the difference from across the room.

Both are wonderful materials for knife handles.

Next up, try to find yourself some linen Micarta handles.

Paper is smoother. Almost like glass sometimes. I've never had Busse paper micarta that was at all rough.

Late to chime in…
I’ve noticed paper often looks a little “dusty” in the valleys.
When dry, yes, and has a brownish look to it. When oiled it is just smooth, deep, inky black goodness.

Ok , I probably didn’t explain myself right on that, and you’re correct. I didn’t mean rough , more like 5000 grit sandpaper. I’ve always felt there was a slight texture to it is all.
What I do know is I’d wish they’d bring black paper back 🙂🙂🙂
