I'm looking at purchasing a Bark River hunting knife which comes with a paper micarta handle. I mostly see canvas and linen on the market. Is paper going to be durable enough for a hunting knife I intend to use?

yes probably. I believe, but could be wrong that the paper. linen. canvas provides mostly texture, it's the other compounds provide the durability. Yoou may want to rough it up with some sand paper if it's too smooth.

All the Bark River handles are polished smooth, won't make any difference which type of micarta or G-10 you choose.

Hey Rocky...

Yaa you Won't have a problem with paper at all...

It's all pretty much the same in durability...

I haven't seen a Micarta I didn't like...

Bark River does a nice job on their handles..
You'll like it...

Dave is correct in that the main difference will be the texture. By the time the reinforcement is impregnated with resin and cured, you will not be able to tell the difference between the strengths of paper, canvas or linen in a micarta knife handle.
