Paper scales for a rodent solution?

I'm going to order a rodent solution from the custom shop. This is going to be my second rat. I've had to wait a couple years since my first one so I'm stoked!
I was going to get the black paper scales. I've never seen black paper micarta in person, but it looks dark black and shiny in pictures . That's the main reason I chose it, for the look.
I also could go black g10 which I know will maintain its color and sheen. Does paper micarta perform good when it's wet?
Which is more inky black and shiny? Any advantages /disadvantages vs G10?

I have two users handled in black paper and would recommend agains it.
Black paper micarta does not stay nicely black for long on a user, both of mine have a thin greyish layer on all the ridges of the handle. Just looks like micro frayed edges...
It actually improved the gripiness of the handles.
I'd go with black canvas for a user, that's my personal preference anyway. You can dye it to make darker if you want.
RS is already a heavy for it's size knife and G10 will be slightly heavier than micarta, but as far as color goes, it'll stay black.

My opinion for the rodent solution-style handle: Go with G10.

I usually like the canvas micarta, but with the texture of the solution handle IMO the G10 has the better grip. The black paper micarta is most definitely slick when wet.

I'm really glad I asked, I almost went with the paper. I would have been very disappointed with the slight fraying and having gray on it.
I forgot about the texturing on the g-10.That rodent trail is bad ass!
I love the look of the coating but not when they get scratched up. Even though I'm ordering satin finish and I know full well from my rodent 6 that it's going to patina all to heck.
I can't wait to step up to Busse so I can get the stain resistance of infini.
I'm not worried about a little weight from the g10.I have horizontal carried my r6 on the back of my belt, lol and realized I needed a solution.
So g10 it is!
I'm getting the spine squared, red liners, satin and a full flat grind.
Yee haw!

Now that sounds awesome! I just settled on a custom shop satin RT in G10 with profile ground to a drop point like the RS, so it will be very similar to your custom RS. (Already FFG and square spine, but maybe a tad longer than the RS and thinner stock). Man, make sure to post pics when its done BleedingFinger, I'd like to see it.

I will for sure be posting pics! This summer! Lol
Trissy replying to my initial email stated a four month wait... I forgot how long awesomeness takes.
Jared at paw paws did a killer job on my r6 sheath. So I will be sending this to him the minute It arrives. Add a few more weeks! Oh man! It's already killing me.
I thought you could only order knives available on the site from the custom shop. How do you have a rodent trail coming? I didn't see any mention of that being available on the site.
Post em up when it arrives, sounds interesting. Not sure I've seen a RT in a different blade shape before. Love how Swamp Rat custom shop will do anything you want!

Well, almost. I haven't been able to get one without the scales, or skeletonized lol. But yes, they are great

I don't know what the sales policies are, but I keep ordering RTs and they keep selling them to me :)
