I also found this one on the 'bay. Described as black, but I'm curious if it's actually green that was washed out in the photo. My other two have blue Buck inserts, but this one shows as black.

I really liked the paperstone handles. I can't say I regret giving away the paperstone 110 I had, because that friend needed a good knife and she has made good use of it, but I do miss mine. I had assumed it would be super popular, I don't understand why it wasn't better loved.

My paperstone Buck 301 wasn’t in a set, simply the 301 by itself in a Boone & Crocket tin. OH

Own one Buck 110 EcoLite with paperstone handles, this 2013 mfg green version bought at a True-Value hardware store several years after their discontinuance (always browse the knife counter or display in hardware stores - I have found knives ten or more years old still in stock). OH

I have two tins: one with the 301 and the second with the 303 and 309. They're beautiful knives, and I'd love to see Buck bring that green paperstone back for slipjoints. Mine are all the same color, but slightly different texture in hand, so the photo makes them look different shades of green.

I would say the 112 drop point Ecolite's are one of the hardest to find variation. As far as I know a small batch was available only in the factory store and only for a very short time. I had a opportunity to buy a few and cant even remember why I passed lolol! I have a vague memory of one or two with a pad print blade..I would guess less than 25 DP 112'S were made and believe at the same time some DP 110's also were made. This was all in less than a two week time period and after that I have never seen or heard about them since. I don't know really why Buck made these but Buck is well known for not wasting parts especially in that time frame. 2012 to 2016 seen a LOT of odd configurations only made for factory sales. And only folks who lived nearby the store were able to buy them. Prototypes were made without the metal liner for destructive tests and I imagine samples with slightly different handles were also made but I have never seen a picture of any. I have seen one or two with emblems but again I can't remember the exact details..

The Jim Shockey Ibex is a 112 EcoLite with black paperstone and a 12c27 mod Sandvik steel blade, sold exclusively at Cabelas. However, Buck had them on Web Special about 10 years ago. The price back then was just $18.00!

Buck also had a 112 build out with black paperstone and a 450 blade with thumb studs. I don't think there have been any black 110s.

I picked up another green ecolite, this one made in 2012. The seller on the 'bay stated it was black, but I choose to believe that it was a result of poor photography rather than ill intent. Interestingly the finish is slightly more pebbly / more matte / less buffed than my other version (2010 on top).

I don't think I've ever since a drop point version. But I will say the 112 ecolite js my all time favorite "lite" 112 they've ever made.
