I've been looking at these off and on for years and never pulled the trigger on one. Back to looking at them again. Is it correct that they are changing from S30v to S45vn? If this is the case, I'll probably just wait to get the updated version.
Thanks in advance!

DLT had S45VN Paramilitary 2s in stock yesterday. It's still C81GP2 which is a little confusing IMO.

Thanks!
Are both the para 2 and 3 changing to the S45vn? Is this going to be standard?
Thanks

Wait so is the cutting edge longer on the s45 para 2???

This is copied from dlt

"We kept the same high-performance CPM S45VN full flat-ground blade but made its profile thinner; removing angles that could catch on a pocket or clothing during deployment. We also lengthened the blade's tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances."

I think that's the description of a PM2, over a PM1?
It's the same description, under other PM2's, from 2010..

It is going to be the base steel for the Para 3 and PM2. That's what it said in the Spyderco catelog. I would think eventually it moves on to the other models as well. I would be down for a Dlc Military in it, if a better model doesn't come out before it.

Also, another question. Does anyone know that when they change the steel, will the scale configurations still be the same?
I'm hoping for either for a para 2 or 3, with the digital camo and black coated blade. Hoping they still have those options along with the S45vn.

I'd be highly surprised to see Spyderco not offering the black G10 and Camo with satin/DLC blades in S45VN, Just as they were with S30V!
