Para 2 and Manix 2

With all the (understandable) love for the Para 2, does anyone else feel like the Manix gets over looked? As I'm sitting here playing with my Manix 2, I realize how great this knife is. I really feel like this is about the best knife for it's size in the Spyderco line up. It is very ambidextrous, mine is a FFG, and the lock is as strong as a folder can be. I know the Para2 gets all the attention, but lets hear some thoughts on the Manix 2. Does anyone else love this knife?

BTW, I installed the low ride titanium clip from Casey here on the forums. It makes a great knife even better. It disappears in the pocket, yet it gives a great place to grip when closing one handed.

I like the Manix but it never gets carried, the tip up only kills it for me.

I particulary love Manix 2, one of my absolute favourite;)!
But sometimes I handle my Manix 80mm, and I feel a bit of nostalgia  my first big love!

The Para 2 is a good knife, no doubt. However, I absolutely love my Manix 2 G-10. I don't go anywhere without it. It's the best knife I own. Beautiful blade, extremely sharp, best lock out there, g-10===>Can't be beat.

I don't own a Para 2 so I can't speak much for that, but I do have a Yojimbo 2 and I'm not a big fan of the compression lock. I much prefer the CB lock as far as being easier on the fingers and it seems very strong as well. I have an entire Spyderco Spyderpak filled with many different folders from different companies and I still have to say the Manix 2 is my favorite.

I contemplated both these knives last summer when both were on back order at a certain online dealer last summer. I initially put in an order for a M2, but then cancelled and switched my order to a P2 because of: 1. Lock simplicity; 2. lock strength/wear properties (initially I thought that the compression lock was a liner lock, and this bothered me); 3. blade grind (assuming both standard version); 4. weight.

Sold my orange Manix (prefer the PM2). Got a Techno for the money, very happy with it :D The FFG sprints have been nice, but I haven't warmed up to the normal one.

The manix would be perfect to me if I had a FFG blade and heavily milled liners to lower the overall weight. I love their quality g10 that they use but the thing is just too darn heavy for me. YMMV ( I know there are sprints like this but I want the production one to come stock with milled liners and FFG blade :) )

Yup, I like the manix line way better than PM2. Xl or regular, the manix just feels better for me.

After looking a lot I felt the Manix XL was perfect for me. I've been EDC only for a week and find it light to carry and a big knife feel. I really like it

I prefer the Compression Lock for overall ease of one handed use, but the ergos of the Manix 2 handle are the best for my hand! I don't carry the Manix 2 a whole lot, but I'm glad I have a couple in my stash.

I love both. The only thing I like more about the PM2 is the compression lock. If they made a Manix with a compression lock, especially in M390, it would be THE knife for me, absolutely perfect. If you are reading this Sal, please consider it!
