Love the knife. The one and only real criticism I have is the glossy, painted black pocket clip. A beadblast or matte anodized clip would look so much better. The current clip bothers me to no end. I do not like modding my knives.

Do you consider unscrewing three screws and screwing in a different clip to be modding you knife? Because there are many other clips from other Spyderco knives that would fit on the Para 2 and that can be purchased for under $10 at the Spyderco Factory Store and used instead of the stock clip. Mine came with a shiny stainless clip and I wanted something more subdued so I ordered a black clip but there are other clips that would fit that are not painted.

It would also be pretty easy to just put a satin finish on black or shiny clip by sanding, or soaking it in paint remover. With the black paint removed chemically, the clip's remaining finish would probably be pretty dull looking.

The only clips the factory store has are the stock polished and painted clips. I am not going to strip paint from the clip. I have no idea what other clips from other models will fit. The person at the store did not offer that info and I am not going to mess around with this issue any more. It's just too bad spyderco puts such an ugly and cheap looking clip on the P2, not to mention they are not very tactical--they scream "look at me!".

A little bit of an over reaction I see. I do wish Spyderco could use a parkerized clip, instead of the black glossy ones. They would be much more durable as far as the finish being preserved..
Just for the record, knife stores are really not in the habit of cross selling clips. They are available as noted for a reasonable price. Do not sweat the small stuff.;)

I'll blast it for free if you like ! It will
End up like this ...

I was going to volunteer to take it off your hands if it really bothers you that much.
