Para 2 Camo Scales

I just ordered my first Spyderco, a Para 2 in digi-cam and satin. I was wondering what pattern the scales have, are they random, or are they always the same? I've seen a few different looking ones in my research.

They are not all the same. I've had several digi-cam 1s and 2s and they are all a little different in pattern.
 
Someone posted about the process for creating the pattern in G10 a while back. I don't remember the details, but it was interesting and explained why they're all different. I'll see if I can find it and post a link.
 
Yup, they are all different. I have one that had a cracked scale. It was mostly green. when I got it back I had a new one that had much more tan/brown in it...which is what I wanted from the beginning...LOL
