Hi every one got a para a few weeks ago when i moved my clip to right hand tip up the screw wouldn't tighten down all the way. I contacted Spyderco thinking the screw was stripped and of course they shipped me a few. Tonight i tried a new one same hole same problem I'm positive now that the liner is stripped. I know i can send it back and probably will we all no there customer service is second to none. My question is has anyone had a similar problem with there's?

It happened to one of my Tenacious right out of the box when I switched it to right hand tip up (one screw only). I use loctite though and it has been a non issue since. The one screw catches the threads but doesn't "lock in tight". I just screwed it in as best it can and let the threadlocker do the rest. Does yours catch the threads at all?

I gave it to my boss awhile back and its his only edc, has been fine. Get loctite or teflon tape and give it a shot, otherwise I suppose you can mail it out to Golden for a true fix.

My yojimbo 2 did that and it was the liner, they sent me the screws as well, and still nothing, they told me that only about 2 threads catch when screwing the clip in. I just sold the knife as is .

Glad it's not just me I've switched out dozens of clips never saw this before it's not catching at all. I already tried the locktite didn't help so I guess i could leave it and carry it tip down that's what im doing now. Not my favorite way . Send it back my last resort. Or i could fix it myself some JB weld on the threads? But of course I'll never be able to get it off. FCM i will try the Teflon tape see if that works Thanks.

It has been 3 weeks since you first posted about this. If you had sent it in then you would have had it back fixed already. Sending it in is the best thing to do.

Thats what i am gonna do wanted to see if this is a ongoing problem with this model before i consider buying more. Thanks everyone

I don' have that problem with my PM2. I do have some side-to-side blade play but that's expected given the price range of the regular S30V PM2. Everything else is pretty good.

I don't think it's a price range thing on the side to side, others more knowledgable than me have claimed it's a product of the bushing and some of the higher end models have this also. it's hit or miss apparently.

If that is the case with his para, maybe he can get longer screws and trim them to fit. Or try cramming a larger diameter screw in there.

I own 23 Para and Para2. This is not common in my experience. If it was you would have seen countless threads on it already don't you thinkz. ;)

Didnt think it was i did see a few other threads on a few other forums with people having the same problem so it seems to be pretty rare . Its in there hands now just waiting to hear the verdict .

Got my Para back today seems like i am loosing it a note was enclosed saying The liners were not found to be defective it was the screw. I must be getting old i tried 4 different screws in that hole including the new ones they sent me . They wouldnt tighten down oh well its fixed . Maybe its time i send myself back for warranty repair ! :foot::eek:

I think its at fault because of the bushing system. I imagine it isn't very easy to get perfect, and if they were bent on making everyone perfect it'd add on to the price. So it could be a price range thing. Spyderco trying to make it great but still trying to keep the cost down a little bit to make it more affordable for the masses. I have seen many people complain of a tiny bit of side play. My para 2 has it as well.

Sorry to hear you had trouble, but delighted to hear that Spyderco sent it back to you and it's as it should be! Congratulations, LEGION!

Surprised they sent you screws. I've heard they want you to send the knife more than a few times
