Para 2 Reassembly Problems?

I just replaced the scales on my Para 2.
Before that, the thing locked up like a fixed blade, and the blade
was perfectly centered when closed.
Since I've put the new scales on, I can't get it right again.
I've tried every pattern of tightening the pivot and stop pin screws
to no avail.
Is there something I'm missing?
Some little known trick?
BTW, I know about the D shaped pivot pin on the one side and it's inserted properly.

I finally got it to where it's like it originally was; solid and centered.
But that's a great trick and I'll definitely remember it.
