Hi, sorry if I'm in the wrong place but I'm looking for replacement screws for a para military 2. I've found a few sites for replacement kits but they seem kind of high. It's the regular scale screw. (not pivot) If I could just find exact dimensions and purchase the screw by itself that would be ideal but otherwise all I can find so far is a $25 full hardware kit.

25$ isnt outrageous- Have you tried contacting spyderco?

From ferider on Spyderco forums:
Scale and Pivot screws:
  • Paramilitary 2, Para 3, steel-lined Manix 2 / XL, steel-lined Native 5:
    • Scale screws are 4-40, 1/5 inch long, 100 degree T8 flat-head
    • Pivot screws are 6-32, 1/5 inch long, 100 degree T10 flat-head

Thank You!
If they are indeed 100 degree flatheads, you'll likely have to order them. McMaster carr is a good bet.

The 100 degree flatheads are VERY uncommon in the local hardware and big box stores. Most of those are 82 degree.

I meant the OP 😂
But in all seriousness, I’m sure they would send him a body screw if he email or calls them.

I wouldn’t be so sure….i got a flat “no” from them after three inquiries. The first two were unanswered. With 11 Spydercos in my collection, there will never be a #12.

Yikes, that’s not the best way to handle customer service IMO 😬

You might be better off returning the knife to Spyderco to have them replace the screws.

Spyderco does not normally send out screws from what I have seen in the past. I think since they source parts from all over and the parts can change through out a run so they want the knife back to see exactly what is needed.

Don't shoot the messenger.

I “get” company policies, but…..

Spyderco PM2 is mfg. in Golden, CO. They could prob. find a screw or two for one if they tried. 😎

I’m a Spyderco fan, but not so much of their curious warranty. Family companies often end up with strange policies and practices that develop organically over time.

Their reason/excuse of CQI being the cause of not sending common parts seems odd when viewed from outside.

It may seem odd to you, but I understand it completely. Would you expect a waterpump for a 2024 F-150 to fit on a 1990 F-150? Things change over time. Part suppliers change over time. And with Spyderco, when they find something is not quite right, they change it *right now*, even if it's in the middle of a production run.

For what it's worth, I posted a picture of one of my PM2s on the factory forum and someone pointed out there was a screw missing, which I hadn't even noticed. When I contacted W&R, they sent me a full set of screws for free. Service is subject to adjustment according to customer's attitude.

You are well known to the owner of Spyderco and many employees. Your experience is not the same as many others.

Ford and many other manufacturers keep detailed records of the changes made in the products and have little trouble finding the correct part. Sal himself said that they don’t do that at Spyderco. And knives are far less complex than cars. Proper record keeping can be done by any sized company. Plenty of excuses why they don’t, but few reasons.

That is a good point, they are made in Golden, CO. I forgot that detail. I always think of Seki, Japan or Taiwan when I think of Spyderco.

I think a set is $20 on knives plus. Or you could even decide to splurge on titanium screws in a different color and pay double that? I bought replacement screws from them for my Seki models because I decided to not rely on manufacturer warranties anymore.
