I have a Para 2 and a Strider PT and I’m thinking about getting an SNG. What I’m looking for, but haven’t found, are pictures comparing the SNG and Para 2. Any help is much appreciated.

talk to my buddy droppoint1110, he's got both, and probably pics to show ya. You can find him on my page, he's in my friends list.

best,
Trev

Just want to add that the SnG has become one of, if not, my favorite knives. :D

Haha, thanks. Hope they're helpful. I was actually kind of surprised when I first compared them that the Para was slightly longer. The SnG still "feels" bigger though. Guess it just has to do with the thickness of everything.

i'm sold i need an sng... i saw how the edge length is almost that of the para 2's. I really thought the edge was tiny. the para 2 actually looks somewhat similar to the sng its weird... hole opening, big choil, short edge but s30v... wonder who likes what better :D

You won't be disappointed with it! I love mine. I was also glad that the cutting edge was more than what I had anticipated. Its really plenty of edge. And I agree that they are strangely similar. They actually feel similar when you use/handle them but the SnG fills the hand more and just feels more substantial. Super beefy for its weight. The new (Gen. 6) SnG's like mine are CPM S35VN though so you get a nice upgrade from the Para with the steel.

I do see the similarities between the Manix and SnG. The three of em are very similar. I would actually agree that the Manix is more similar being that its a wider profile than the Para. Also has that slight downward angle to the handle like the SnG.

I don't think S35 is much of an upgrade. I'd prefer S30 or maybe 3V but the latter is not stainless...that'd be one tough knife. I think S30V exceeds S35V for edge retention.

I'd still consider S35VN an upgrade as far as composition goes. just my experience.
