So I just wanted to get the opinion of a sebenza and para 2 owner. Will I be upset with the ergos of the sebenza if I like the para 2? or is it different but good? thanks

It's like comparing apples to oranges. The para2 is awesome, ergos great. The Sebenza is as well. If you have the chance get a Sebenza, do it. You won't be disappointed.

I have both. In photos the sebenza slabs look straight. They are not. There is a relief cut for the for index finger. But like Quickdraw says, this is an apple to orange comparison. If you get a sebenza in your hand you will feel the difference. It is much more solid than a PM2. I doubt you will be upset with the sebenza, it is an awesome knife.

I have both, and both are great knives.

I like the opening and closing of the Para 2 better, and the medium size. The small sebenza is a good bit smaller, and the large is a little bigger.

I think the straight handle of the Sebenza is the best folder handle out there. With a straight handle it is much more easy to makes cuts away from your self.
The Sebenza is a better made knife, but you will pay for that.
Two very different knives, and two very different price points. If price is no concern I would go for a Sebenza myself, but the best answer is to get both.
Both are really, really great knives.

The ergos of a sebenza are hard to beat imo. But I also did like the way the para2 felt but I could not get used to the compression lock.

If the para2 had a liner or framelock it would feel like a cheap sebenza.

In closing you shouldn't be disappointed.

"If" money is not necessarily a concern then by all means try a Sebenza. It receives varying reviews from time to time and I feel most of it is because it is indeed an expensive knife and put on a very tall pedestal but decades of satisfied customers are not likely wrong. The small Seb & Para are 2 of my favorite all time knives. Each has it's own greatness. Many say it looks dated but like mentioned above, the design works well and it feels extremely solid & comfortable in hand. Is the Seb worth 3-4x the cost? It is if you want one!

Both knives are great for EDC and you won't be disappointed with either one IMO. When I had my full knife collection those two were actually my favorite EDC's and liked them equally as much. I think what I liked most was the shape of their blades and were the perfect size. Even though one is a frame lock and one is a liner lock they're both equally as fun to open and close. I miss my para2 s90v :(

You are me a few months ago!! I love my Para2's and my Sebenza's but like others have said its comparing apples to oranges so they are completely different. If you like the Sebenza get one but be careful there addictive:D Now that you have one on your mind your screwed:eek:

I have handled a lot of Sebenzas over the years and own quite a few Para 2s. Sebenza doesn't do anything for me and I would much rather own duplicate Paras in more modern steels at a significantly lower price point. Different strokes for different folks.

Keep in mind that the Sebenza has a smaller profile when closed, is only 2 mm longer when opened, and has over half an inch more blade. The PM2 is a fine knife with a variety of blade steels that are semi-available.

I've owned and used both. They are about the same size. Both have great ergonomics. If you can afford both, do it. You won't regret it. If money is an issue get the Para 2.

I have both and both are great knives in there own respects for EDC. For me, at least IMO, I have had every flavor of PM2 and while most are great, great craftmanship and quality, my S90V PM2 is a very noticable notch above any other flavor of PM2. The fit and finish on the S90V's are just impeccable. You have to experience one to see what I am talking about I guess, but those who have, or have had a S90V and any other flavor probably will agree with me. The S90V PM2 is very, very close to a Sebenza in craftmanship and quality, fit and finish. The bonus is the S90V blows the Sebenza's S30 or S35 away :D
You will not go wrong with either, both are winners.

I've had both. Personally, I like my blue Para better than either. The lock on my S90v was sticky, the titanium on my CRK knives felt too slick. The CRK knives did hold an edge well for being S30v. I wish I would have kept at least one Umnmzaan.

I just picked up my first Paramilitary 2 (blue M390), and my love/obsession for knives has been rekindled because of it. I can't imagine the S90v being that much better than M390, but after your description of it, I now have some new knife envy.

You just made me feel better about not having the S90v, lol! I am so impressed with the blue Para2. Everything about it seems perfect. I can't compare it to a Sebenza, but now that I have it, my interest in CRK is not as strong as it was before. I would still like to see and handle a CRK, but I wouldn't buy one sight unseen at this point. The Umnmzaan is the one I would be most interested in I think.

Now that I have the Paramilitary 2 M390, I feel like there really isn't any need for another knife in the same category (other than because knives are awesome).

I have both and i like the blade and shape of the sebenz more but the ergos of para 2 is perfect for my hand. The PM2 has godly ergos. I also have the unumz and like it just as much as the sebenza. They all feel different in hand and depends on personal preference, hand size, and use. Nothing beats the build of CRK. I mean they are steller. Both are great companies/warranty and take care of their customers! They are pretty different styles one (PM2) comes in every color, steel, and blade coating but the sebbie is straight classic and high class. My advice: invest in a CRK if you can, you will not be sorry. Plus they will not lose a lot of value. You will in all likelyhood enup owning all of them. You can pick up PM2 for 100 bucks, so you could start there but that would open the flood gates. Haha Let me put it this way I dont like to have two of the same knives but I have duplicates of both. I will say CR runs his steel a little soft so if you cant sharpen well, you may prefere the PM2 bc they usually stay sharper a little longer...then again the CRKs will sharpen easier amd faster... Haha good luck!
