I bought this at National Gun Day yesterday in Louisville. The box indicates it started life as a digicam model, but there weren't any original scales in the box. The seller thought it was a sprint run but the box code makes me 99.9% sure he was wrong...plus I think I would have heard about this.

Workmanship on the scales is first rate, although whoever mounted them sure flared out the lanyard tube with gusto!

Could these be Grimsmo scales? There's no JG engraved in them anywhere that's visible.

JG was going to be my first guess but there is something telling me different, can't put my finger on it though. Still looks great though!

I wasn't aware of the BladeHQ scales until this thread. Did they ever sell non-textured ones?

wish i would've seen that saturday while i was there!!!!! Beautiful...

Same here, now I'm curious what my para2 might be like with some green aluminum scales. I'm typically not a huge fan of aluminum scales, but I'm definitely getting a little sick of black g10.

The scales that BladeHQ has now specifically state that they were made by Allen Putman in the description of them. But, these are a honeycomb pattern and not smooth. The edges look to be sharper than the ones that John makes. Possibly an example of some of his early work?

Who knows really. It is most definitely possible that there are other people making these scales. I do know that JGs earlier work was sans logo.

Either way they look great.
