Para 3 - Anodized Scales wear/fade over time?

I've been looking into modifying my Para 3 G10 model with titanium scales.

They have the stonewash which is a nice muted look with my satin blade

Or some really neat and colorful "Flomascus" pattern scales.

I'm wondering do the bright colorful anodized scales lose their color or detail over time? Is there any drawbacks to them? Would I be better off wear-wise to get a standard stonewash (plain) scale?

Would it be advised to get a titanium clip too, as to prevent the scales from scratches?

Anodizing is tough enough to last a couple of lifetimes... IF you take reasonable care of it!

They dull quickly actually. I have some, I love them, it's no biggie, just wipe down with acetone and the color comes right back. I do this every few months.

The anodizing is pretty damn tough but I suppose the die that is used could fade with time. I've seen black turn purple and red turn pink with cheaper products.

This. I bought a pair of $150 anodized ti scales for my PM2, and this was my first go with Ti. I got them, and I was AMAZED when the color appeared to "rub" away, instantly, with the touch of a finger! I was like, these scales will be dull grey in no time, what in the world did I just buy, is this how safe queens are made!? But, I tried wiping it down with Windex and was equally amazed to see the color return like that.

So, yeah, OP, seems like the color is fading, it ain't, just spray it down.
