para 3 dilemma - plea for help

I wasn't ever sure I'd get a para 3, but when the blacked out, smooth G10 Cruwear sprint run came out, it was too appealing not to snag. Unique, feels and looks great, perfect blade steel. Didn't anticipate ever getting or needing another.

Until now. If you release a knife in a perfect shade of forest green I am the sucker you're fishing for. Unless Spyderco ever implements that rumored custom shop and I can order everything under the sun in forest green, or releases this in, idk, S90V, I don't know that I'll see a better para 3 combo ever coming along than this 204P / Forest Green exclusive that just re-released.

I can't decide what to do. I really don't need two para 3's, or many more knives to be honest, and can't easily justify a pure luxury $150 hit right now. But I love this version! In the words of Natalie Imbruglia, I'm torn.

If I'm going to keep just one, should it be the blacked out, smooth CruWear, or the forest green 204P?

If it's just the Forest green scales, you're after..
And you want to keep the cruwear..
But don't want or Need, 2 Para 3's..

You can buy it, swap the green scales to the Cruwear and sell the 204p and smooth scales....

Problem solved! Lol...

Trust me, I've done a full collection in, Foliage Green..

What the hell……what the hell, rational reasoning is not supported here ;), not needing two knives of the same model just doesn’t make much sense.
But, if you must, sounds like the green will bring a smile to your face more so than the blacked out one. Besides, over time, the blacked out blade will show signs of wear depending on how you use your knives. Then, you’ll always have stuck in the back of your mind, I shoul have gotten the green when I had the chance. Who in their right mind wants to live with that stress ???????

I thought my Para 3 in Cruwear and smooth G10 was my perfect, final edc knife. Then came the Para 3 in REX 45... now I rotate them both into my pocket (along with a Police 4, K390 Stretch, Pacific Salt 2, and some Cold Steels).

You came to "Enablers R Us" and asked us to convince you to NOT buy a new, next best and perfect knife? Either buy the new Para 3 you want and rotate through your others or get out now, before it's too late.

B bleasure

You do understand that saying you dont NEED a knife is almost grounds for banning from BF right? If you ever say that again we will be forced to report you to the moderators! Hahahahha

You absolutely need both! They fill very different roles. 204p is stainless and cru-wear is not.

I have the 204p/green military and its been a fantastic steel. If I liked the para3 design Ide absolutely buy that Knifeworks version.

Here is another tidbit for thought. Even if the "rumored custom shop" ( which has been shot down every time it comes up, which is about 4 times a year) should come to pass, Dealer Exclusive colors may not be available that way, depending on the exact arrangement Spyderco has with that dealer. It may only be the Forest Green/204P combination that is exclusive to KW, or it may be that color of G-10 that is reserved solely for them.

This thread made me go and buy one just after getting a Para 3 back into my collection.... It's a great price for a good steel though considering the S45vn version is $165.

Very very nice my friend, the top 2 have different handles, how are they in hand compared to original ones
Those are "skinny" or "slim" modified scales.

They're better suited for your everyday, quick-cut sort of tasks, and give the Para 3 a streamlined, more modern look.

Ergonomically, for hard, or extended use, the original shape is hard to beat. Hope that helps!
