Para 3 edge geometry

anybody know what the factory edge angle is for the paramilitary 3 ?? I’ve found several answers on the ole interweb. I bought one used and the edge is kinda beat up.

It could be anywhere between 15 and 20 DPS.

Don't get too hung up on the factory angle. If you use (and sharpen) your knives enough, you will find that most factory angles are a compromise to fit most users needs. I typically needed to thin out just about every production knife I have ever purchased.

A good start is 20 DPS, then fine tune from there to fit your cutting needs. If you see premature edge degradation at this angle, add a degree or two to your next sharpening session. If it doesn't slice as cleanly or effortlessly as you like, subtract a degree or three.

My understanding is that Spyderco uses a 20 degree angle on most (if not all) of their folders.

I put 16 degree edges on all my Spydercos. Just finished one tonight.

I do a 16-18 edge and then use a sharpmaker to touch up with a micro bevel.
