Para 3 pivot

Is there something special about the Para 3 pivot that I'm missing? Mine appears to be cranked down and the blade isn't seized. If I tightened any other knife this much I wouldn't be able to open the blade. My coworker has one too and it's the same way. They both came cranked but the blade is smooth opening.

Thanks. Was not aware of that. Makes sense.

Pretty much all the Golden spydercos have the bushing pivot. Some, like yours, need no fiddling. Others minor tuning. It is a much more reliable system than something like Benchmades standard system, which can be a pain to get smooth action with no play.

The Kapara originally came with a standard pivot, but was quickly cqi'd to have a bushing because people weren't happy with the action. I think that was a bit excessive, but spyderco is very good at responding to customer desires!

This is my 3rd Golden Spyderco. The other 2 are from many many years ago, an original PM and Manix from over 15 years ago. Those have been near perfect so I'm going to go on a limb here and say Spyderco knows what they're doing and just enjoy my Para 3. Wasn't much of a concern as a curiosity really.

My Para 3 came perfectly drop shut without play. I actually prefer it to be close to drop shut. So did a very slight, really slight, tighten to the pivot and has perfect for me since. Super fidget friendly.
