Hello everyone.

After coming away from and back to the Para 3 platform I really enjoy most things about it. I had one with fireside "skinny fat" scales but I know other brands do the full skinny scales.

Those who have the mod do you enjoy it over stock or not?

If you enjoy it what are your favorite aftermarket scales for the Para 3?

TBH the real skinny mod should be to remove the sharp hump behind the finger choil so that the area is more like the military or the OG paramilitary.

That would be interesting to see. It looks like you can only remove so much as the blade tang takes up most of that area.

I have XL-XXL Size hands, The skinny mod doesn't feel right in my hands!
Do you carry a Para 3? I only have like medium - large hands. I'll probably hold off for now since my K390 Para 3 is about perfect centering and action and I'm afraid to mess it up right now haha.

Because of how the handle is contoured, med-large size hand actually fit better on PM2, unless you are planning on using the finger choil. Despite having long handle, the PM2/para3 handle designs have many dead spaces. There’s 1/2-3/4” of dead space in front due to hump separating the choil and then another hump at the back of the handle, well, for seemingly no reason. So even with the PM2 you are left with less than 3.8” of grip area not including the choil.

I’m gonna get flamed for this here, but I don’t think someone was designing PM2/Para3 in the dark…

I'm impressed the knife works for you,
Yes I like it on the para 3 and the shaman as well.

Well I went ahead and ordered a set of scales to try out. The only way I'll get it out of my head is to just go ahead and try them. Ever since I really started looking at the mod I can really picture it in certain positions and I think it may work out well for me. I'll just have to see once they get here.

Thanks for the input all.

I think people that buy a parea 3 over the pm2 are valuing size as a priority so skinnier scales works. I’ve had skinny scales on a para 3 and wasn’t disappointed.

Yeah for me I really enjoy the size of the knife. It honestly just works for me as a knife I can have on me all the time. I'll post up some pictures and a first impressions after I get them installed.

Just to update :I got the scales and they are great. For my hands I don't think it makes a huge difference in grip and it was a huge pain to swap them out so 8 don't think I'll do it again. But I really like how this came out and they look and feel awesome.
