I know the two folders are completely different but at this point are my 2 favorite spydercos to edc. The para 3 is s30v and the manix is s110v. If the bad guy from the movie Saw had kidnapped both your knives and had two angle grinders set up to a mechanism he created which slowly moved the grinders towards both you para 3 and your manix 2 and said you could only choose one, which one would it be?

If you have a para 2 feel free to replace it for the 3 in this imaginary scenario :D

Cool fiction.

I am still waiting for my first manix 2 to arrive.

But my para 3 is my most EDC folder and some brothers of him are already on my ordering list (cruwear, s110v,...)

Bye ric

Preferably para 3 vs manix 2 light but if you dont own one of the two you can go para 2 vs manix 2

I owned and carried a manix 2 LW for over a year. Misplaced it....somehow, and replaced it with a Para 3. I put a deep carry pocket clip on the Para 3. The Manix 2 is great, but I like the Para 3 better.

The Manix 2 fits my hand better, even though it's bigger to carry, I choose it over the Para3. The Para3 creates a hot spot in the palm of my hand.

I've had several Manix LWs. I just love the Manix platform in general.

Para 3 was cool for the short time I had one. I'll probably pick another one up some day but for now my opinion stands: Manix any day of the week!

I am leaning towards the manix as well the ergos are just awesome. I dunno why but i find the locking mechanism a bit better also. I like how when you hold the lock down and flick the knife closed it always lands perfectly in the fully locked position but on the para 2 n 3 its hit or miss as it doesnt always close all the way.

Manix is a big knife that carries big. Same with the PM2.

The Para 3 is a big knife that is ultimately just as useful as the other two but it definitely carries smaller. A Casey Lynch Short Clip makes it even better.

The PM2 is definitely my favorite as it fits my hand so well and the blade shape works much better for me than Manix 2. But the Para 3 gets carried the most, by far.

They're pretty different sizes, PM2 vs Manix is a better comparison. For me, Manix, because I don't particularly like the compression lock.

For me, PM2. I like everything about the Manix 2 LW, except for the lock. Dropped it too many times trying to close it one handed with wet hands.

I own my first Spyderco (a Police) back in 1995/1996. I carry it many years. Later i own different Spydies, Delica, Endura, etc.

The last seven years i was a “traditional“ guy. Right from the bottom of my heart.

Two months ago, i saw here a picture from another member. It was a Manix 2.
BAM! Right in my face. It was love at the first sight.
I ordered one the same day, and wear it since that day. In german we said “Das Ding ist rund!“ (This thing is round!)
It's IMHO an almost perfect knife design...

Para 3 !!!

Fits good in the hand, no hotspots. Compression lock is awesome.

Manix 2 LW: ipens perfectly.
Hurts in the hand. Closing is difficult (slippy end of the knife, too big, thumb hurts).

Bye ric

Sorry to hear the Manix 2 LW hurts your hand and is hard to close...

Mine is the most comfortable knife I've ever owned, (dark blue s110v LW) no hot spots, operates perfectly and is buttery smooth. I liked it so much I now have an all black g10 version, the blurple g10 s110v version, and a blacked out XL on the way.

To each his own though. People have their own preferences and different hand sizes/shapes. I guess the manix 2 isn't for everyone. I'm sure someone would be willing to take yours off your hands. For instance, you could just mail it to me and I would be willing to take that troublesome knife no questions asked. It would have a good life with me. Lots of brothers and sisters to hang out with, it's own warm slot in a spidey PAC, and regular outings in my pocket. It would always be sharpened, cleaned, and oiled before being tucked in at night. What more could a knife want?
