Hey all, I got my vietnam tactical today and the caracci sheath. One thing is still missing a good lanyard. I know how to tie the lanyard, I just need a good place to get para cord from. Any help would be great.

If any of you are thinking about buying a hawk and just haven't done it. Well start with a ATC vietnam tactical. I promise you will not be sorry you did. Then work your way into a next generation ranger and so on. I can't wait for the T3.

Brian C can certainly comment on the home-tied lanyard if you want to take the time...

MTF3 shipped us a bunch of pre-braided modular lanyards which are available at $25 each. We have them in stock and they come with color instructions. Each purchase benefits the MAN from TUPELO himself!

Drop me a line and I can fill you in on where to get your para cord. I am always willing to help someone from my old stompin grounds.

Hey Andy & Justin!

I just finshed off another lanyard, this one from black 550 cord, while I am watching a replay of the Best Ranger Competetion on the Discovery channel. Good show Justin. I just saw a guy walk by that looked just like Andy during the hawk throw, but it couldn't be Andy, no cell phone..:D

I am working on different colors for these lanyards all still with the flat plait, detachable without having to untie the plait. Let me know if I can answer any questions about these modular hawk lanyards.

Can't wait until we get together again. Melvin

Here are the lanyard tying instructions that Andy referenced above. Let me know if anyone has questions & I'll try to help.

Big Target, thanks for the heads-up on The Sportsman's Guide as a source for 7-strand paracord. I've found a lot of places, including a local Army/Navy store & Sports Authority, who sell similar cord but it uses a core of bundled fibers rather than individual cords. It's fine for a lot of uses like lanyards, covering ball chain, etc. but I missed having the option of using the internal cords separately for other chores. Any other good sources of 7-strand paracord out there?

For all of you looking for paracord you might want to check out Ranger Joe's, U.S. Calvary and Brigade Quartermaster. You can find there sites by doing a search on just about any search engine and I know that they all carry para cord.
