Ive been meaning to buy some para cord for a very long time and never got around to it. :o My question is where should I get it from? theres a lot on Ebay, but im skeptical of it. Im looking for the real stuff that actually holds 550 pounds. I also heard there is another grade that is stronger, anyone know anything about that? Obviously I don't want to pay a shitload so price is to be considered.

Thanks guys, TJ

Are there any Smith And Edwards around ya? Look for outdoor types stores in your area. I usually pay about .7 cents a foot.

If you can't find anyplace local there are lots of places online you can get it.

I get mine from countycomm, and I know there are many other reputable sources.

+1 on Supply Captain! I go through lots of it, and buy mine from them. Great service!

Countycomm and supply captian are the best and it is real 550 cord.
I saw some 5/16 rope at a police store the other day that was made just like para cord but it was rated at 300 lbs.

I have bought all mine on Ebay and not had a problem so far,but we have very few stores that stock it over here.

the only place here that might sell it would be the army navy store and theyre prices are ridiculous! once I know how the good stuff look a nd feels ill be able to look around some more.
