I would like to get some neon orange paracord, what is the difference between 550 and 650?

550 is a bit thinner and supposedly 550 lb test strength 550 is the common size just be sure to buy the kind with 7 strand core and yo will be set. i must have gone through over 1000 yards of paracord in my life its amazingly useful stuff :thumbup:

They also make 550 cord with 8 strand cores. That may be too thick for some users, but its obviously stronger.

Real 550 is 7 strands. There are many variations of paracord with different core threads, but true 550 is 7 nylon strands (which are actually two thin strands twisted together).
