I was wondering why everyone likes this knife? I had one when they first came out and the handles felt funny or to small to me. I liked the handles on the regular milie alot better. May get another Para and try it. How is the para II different from the eariler ones?

The choil on the Para 2 has jimping, and the handle shape near the butt of the knife is more ergonomic. I love the ergos on my Para 2.

I can hold the pm2 in my hand open and it wont move. It feels like it was designed JUST for my hands! The blade shape takes advantage of the steel. The lock adds versatility to the already versatile spyderhole using blade. The G10 is damn near invincible. I have been hit by a few cars (on foot and biking) and the G10 still looks great. 4 directional clip(versatility again) and the jimping make you positive you wont screw up. The compression lock allows one handed opening and closing but also makes it to where you never have to get you hand in the path of the blade. Thats a great feature when working late at night. Its durable, its functional, its versatile, its well built, it is ergonomic, it is worth the buck, overall It is my ideal knife.

I love mine.

If you can't decide between the PM2 and the Millie, get both. I always alternate between the two.

I like the P2 for EDC because of the shorter blade but the Millie comes with me during camping and hunting trips. Both are great knives.

uhhhh????? A few?
I noticed this as well.... Would be interesting to know the stories on how that has happened.

I am a huge Para 2 fan, I have my second on the way (sprint/limited edition), definitely will probably buy a third sometime. I haven't had a original para but from what I have heard, seen and read that they Para 2 will probably fix all the issues you have with the original. I would definitely try again.

I've had mine for a few months now and it's been great. I've been considering getting another one to go with it as well. It's been a real user and has the scratches to prove it but it still locks up tight and slices great with very occasional sharpening.

Some of the features I doubt I could ever go without now:

14mm Spydie Hole
Brass Bushings that make it glide open
Choil Jimping
Large lanyard loop

And the compression lock is OUTSTANDING! I love this knife.

Wow, you must have pretty huge paws if the Para2 handle is too small for you. One of the improvements from the Para1 was to make the grip bigger. The Para1 handle was too small for me, but the Para2 is just right. The regular Millie is an excellent knife, but some people think it's a little too large for EDC and that's where the Para2 comes in. If the Millie suits you though, carry it by all means. It's a masterpiece as well.

The Para 2 was my third Spyderco, after buying a Delica and a Dragonfly 2. I've since bought about seventeen (gulp!) more Spydercos. I liked the Para 2, but at first couldn't see exactly why it was so universally lauded. Great knife for sure, but one among many.

After letting it sit for a while, I started carrying it daily for a week. I came to really appreciate the following:

1) The size is just right. The Millie is too large for my preferences. Considering the blade length, the Para 2 is very light and slim profile.
2) The ergonomics are superb.
3) The compression lock is a great design.
4) It's made in USA. I have Spydercos from other countries which I love. But USA made is always a plus to me.
5) I have come to love how it deploys. There's some resistance when you start to deploy, but once the blade clears the lock resistance, it swings open until locked. This gives deployment a feel almost like an assisted open knife. You press just enough to counter the backspring type feeling, and then it opens almost like an AO. I love that!

The Millie is a bit big for my EDC - I usually only carry it while on camping trips. The Para2 slips into my jeans pocket really well - and the variety of steels available now is really cool.
