Para Military 2 Black Blade DLC discoloration

Hey guys,

a few weeks ago I used my para 2 for opening up some boxes, bags, etc. and after I was done I cleaned it under warm water.
I finally found some time to take some pics of the knife and how it is looking now. Forgive the cell phone quality.
High res versions after clicking on the pics.

(It is an original Spyderco, the camera just didn't pick up the two logos because of the lighting.
The scratch which isn't coated was on the blade when I got the knife from my dealer.)

Now, what did I do wrong? Why does it look like this after cleaning it with water?
Any chance I can get it back to normal?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this matter.

Greetings,

Try wiping it down with some lubing oil/gun oil/CLP and see what happens after.

Never noticed a blemish that like on my Para2 DLC before. I do get areas that get a bit matte or smooth and they move around with wear and cleanings. You could have transferred some plastic or something off onto the coating. Maybe some soap and water using a sponge or something would help. I wipe my blade with GooGone if I have tape residue on it, that might help too.

Agreed with others. Clean with soap/water. Then dry and apply oil. I use vegetable oil, as I do use my para2 for food prep sometimes.

Soap+water didn't help. WD-40 did the trick. It's not completely gone but it looks a lot better now.
Thanks to all of you for the advice!
