After a lot of searching I found a PM2 and just recieved it today.
No experience with the compression lock until now. The blade has a little side to side wobble to it when in locked position. Is this normal for compression lock or should it lock up tight?
Screws are tight.

Not normal for a comp lock, but that issue has been reported on some Para 2s, possibly due to the bushing system in the pivot. Spyderco's factory forum has several threads from the early days of the Para 2 addressing that issue. You might want to check them out.

I would untighten the pivot screw and stop pin
Then retighten the stop pin first, then the pivot after

I've had the opportunity to tinker with 5 separate Para 2s. 3 of them had slight bladeplay that could not be fixed due to the inability to tighten the pivot any further. The other 2 were able to be tightened to the point of locking the blade down. This may be a small sample size, but I've seen varied reports of this around the forums, so I would guess it's really just luck of the draw. I did see one thread where the owner very slightly sanded down the length of the stop pin and was then able to tighten it enough to eliminate the blade play. However, this voids your warranty, and may be risky if you sand it down too much.

Both of mine have been like that. Unfortunately, the stepped pivot of the Para 2 (which isn't a true bushing) prevents you from tightening the pivot up to remove the side to side blade play.

Thanks for the replys guys, ZI1 wins the prize. Tried your suggestion, took care of the blade play and only slightly tighter opening and closing.
Thanks everyone for your help.

I recently got body screws from spyderco for my para. i took it apart and cleaned it and when re assembled there was a little bit of side to side play. after a lot of adjusting on the screws it came to wear it was only going to be too tight or have the smallest amount of side to side. after a few day of playing with it the play worked itself out so my guess would be is to just adjust it as much as possible and see if that doesnt help then i would just let it work it out. Only problem with mine now is it is a hair off center and im trying not to let it get to me but..... :D
