Howdy folks, really wanting to pull the trigger on a PM2, from what I've read it will be a good decision. I am pretty sure I am sold on a Black with a satin blade. Now my question as I want to get the right one.
What are all the different model numbers? I searched the forum and found that if the model ends in a 2 it is a PM2, however there are several model numbers when I look at the retailers. I also read out the knockoffs and scared the heck out of me. I assume knifeworks and other dealers on this site are reputable? Yes? No?

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Wow, long time listener first time caller! Very cool.

Any dealer that has a paid membership here is 100% legit, buy with confidence.

knivesshipfree and bladehq I can attest for personally.

You'll get better info from others about model numbers, but I'm pretty sure there's only one kind of PM2 with black handles and satin blade.

Awesome, thank you, and I may have misspoke on the satin part, I meant black with plain blade... And yes long time listener, first time caller.... At first I was afraid, I was petrified LOL....

Ditto, and ditto. Roger at KnifeWorks is also 100% legit as well. Don't get hung up on model #'s, just check the pics and find the one you want (if you can find it in stock, that is!). They also pop up now and then on the Exchange here - if the seller has several positive feedbacks, then I wouldn't hesitate if the price is right for the condition.

Btw, Welcome to the deep end of the pool!

ok I don't know how people feel about this but I just grabbed my para 2 black g10 with plain blade for 118 off amazon, had it in 2 days... Ive bought probably 10 knives off amazon haven't had one problem with any of the quality and the prices are always lower than anywhere I look(and I look all over the web/local stores)

The dealers that paid memberships to this site are all legit. We've got a solid community and the majority of the membership here are not in favor of any sort of counterfeit, clones, or knock offs. There are a few special snowflakes that will argue the point to death though. While you might find some deals on Amazon, a lot of folks prefer to support the dealers that help support this forum. Personally, I would prefer to buy from a company that sells knives and related items specifically rather than buying items at a store where you can get a knife, windshield wipers, and bird feed in one order. Maybe I'm just odd that way. Buy quality, cry once.

Same here Rev! Support the Dealers - keep 'em in business - or you'll end up wishing you did!

Thanks for the link Payne I think that sums it up for me. As it looks to me that G10 and S30V is pretty much the standard. Now as Link2derek said pretty much what you see is what you get.
