I was cruising around ebay today and saw a kydex neck sheath made for the PM2. Has anyone here ever used one of these or something similar? I am trying to figure out if it would be a convenient way to carry my PM2 or if it would just end up being a pain in the neck (pun intended).

I was wondering this. The PM2 is just about the same weight as the ESEE Izula 2 and the BK&T BK11.

I bought a BM AFCK years ago and it came with a neck sheath. The sheath is an interesting concept but I've never had the need to carry a knife that way myself. I am a big fan of pocket clips, and I'm always wearing pants that are substantial enough to work with pocket clips so I work that way.

I haven't figured out the reason behind neck sheaths. Are they for concealment? For carrying a second knife besides the one in your pocket? For when you are wearing clothes that don't have pockets and/or don't have substantial enough material to work with a pocket clip?

I was thinking for carrying a second knife when I am wearing regular jeans. I say regular jeans meaning not Carhartt's or carpenter type pants. I always have a flashlight on me and my cell phone and another knife so the extra pockets come in handy. So when I am not wearing Carhartts I was looking for a way to carry my PM2.
Maybe I don't need to carry two knives........nahhhhhh that's crazy talk!!

Check the seller...if its dericdesmond he is a member here. His name is Eric Esmond if so and he makes outstanding necker sheaths for just about every Spyderco knife, as well as, a few other brands. I own a lot of his necker sheaths and they're fantastic. I use them for my Millie/pm2 and several other knives I own when I want to carry more than 2 knives on me.

Yep that's the seller. I was wondering if he was a member here. They look pretty useful to me for carrying a second knife. I may have to hit him up for one. Thanks for the input.

I don't leave the house without a neck knife. Actually I don't leave the bedroom without a neck knife...lol...I also carry a folder with a pocket clip 99% of the time. The attraction to neck knives for me is how easily concealed they are. Plus I always like to have a backup blade. I own 5 neck knives for different purposes. Thinking of picking up one of these sheaths for my dragonfly as well. Also the Para2 is absurdly light, it would be very easily carried in this fashion.

I wear a Spyderhawk in a neck sheath at work because I wear a Kydex suit all day covering my work clothes (required to wear them as part of the personal protection equipment). It's easier to access that than anything in my pockets.

This is my other "neck knife" Spyderco.

I've got one of Eric's kydex sheaths for my PM2. It does a great job - but keep in mind that the kydex will cause some rub marks on your blade. This isn't so bad on a satin blade - but it will rub the DLC coating right off the blade after a few insertions/removals. Not a deal breaker - just don't use it with a black blade model...
