Hi!

This is my first review attempt and since I'm comparing three knives I'll not enter in a lot of details but just post my impressions and feelings after some use. I hope you all understand it, english is not my mother language.

Edge out of the box
The Para was the one with better edge out of the box, It came with a scary sharp edge that lasted for a week after medium use, really impresive how smooth this S30V can cut...

It was followed by the 710, razor sharp too but the feeling of the edge was not as smooth as the one of the Para, probably because of the D2, I couldn't shave my arm as well as with the Para but the cutting performance with some cardboard was equal.

The Spec Bump came with a shaving sharp edge but not as good as the previous two, I'll sharpen it and post my comments about it.

The locks
The Para have the compression lock, the 710 the famous Axis and the Spec got the Stud Lock. I haven't made any spine whack test so I'll not comment the safety of them, just the smoothness and how confortable they are to me.

All of the are really easy to open and close one handed, maybe the compression is the weirdest but with some practice works great. The Stud Lock is easy but, despite it can be used as thumstud to open the blade, It's not as confortable as the axis, my favorite between them.

Ergos
If there's something I equally love of them are the ergos, all are different but great, maybe the Spec Bump is the one that fits my hand better but I like them all.

The G10 handles
The handles are all G10 but the most grippy is without doubt the Spyderco one, then the 710 and finally the Spec Bump. I have to say that my Spec Bump is the CPM154 version, the new S30V version comes with a new 3D handle pattern that should be more grippy.

Into the pocket
The most pocket friendly is in my opinion the 710, is thinner and tip up carry, low profile and the G10, not being as smooth as the one in the Para, makes it easier to take it out of the pocket. The Spec Bump is probably the loser here because of its weight and the profile.

This is all by now, I'll updated when I have more experience with them, now here are some pics!

Nice work, the Bump has an extreme curvature, your thoughts on its versatility/usefullness?

Gotta love that 710!! Years after it was first introduced, it's one hell of a knife and still my favorite.

Hi Cliff!

The recurved blade it's a little hard to use at first when you discover it advantages becomes a really usefull shape. I love the front belly, It will make a lot of pressure with no effort to start the cuts and the tip is very versatile too.

One of weaknees I find is the "back belly", maybe because at first I tried t start the cuts with it and the performance was no good but, once you are cutting it'll works fine. Another issue could making accuratte cuts if you have to use all the blade, It can be a little tricky to get because of the recurved shape.

Saying that, I like the shape but you have to learn how to use it to take advantage of it.
