Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. After hearing about the Paramilitary on this forum and others for so many years (pre-production, prototypes, production), I finally had to see what all the fuss is about. I'm a sucker for G10 and good steel, so it was just a matter of time.

Just placed an order for a Paramilitary, two Sharpmakers (Xmas gifts), and a Jester (my Ladybug keeps opening in my pocket. See here.)

Looks great on paper and in the pics I've seen. Will be my first blade with S30V. Also my first compression lock. (What is MBC rated btw?)

I think you're going to be very pleased. My Para gets more carry time than any other folder I have. The flat ground S30V slices like crazy.

MBC (Martial Blade Craft) rated = 200 or more pounds per blade inch before failure, IIRC.

I just looked at the specs on a couple sites to compare with my Endura and Delica. The Para looks *really* interesting! :D

A couple questions for anyone out there:

1. Is it tip up OR down carry? One site I checked said tip down only, the other said both...?

2. is the clip left or right reversible?

3. has anyone moved the clip? If so, any issues with stripping, etc.?

4. how does it (the clip) come from the factory?

5. does it seem kind of heavy for deep pocket carry?

Guyon,

I think you will be VERY impressed too! It is a beautiful knife that "Santa" (my kids) are going to give me for Christmas. They are a stunning design.

Skip my questions 1-4; I went to the Spyderco site to verify those.

I still wonder about 5, though, since it's kind of subjective based on those of you who have one...?

So, 5. does the Para seem heavy for deep pocket carry?

By deep pocket carry, I assume you mean dropped into the pocket. I find it OK for that, but I carry it clipped almost all the time.

You will be very pleased with your Para--it has rapidly become a favorite of mine. Good luck. :)

I really like mine although I favor a clip carry over just in the pocket :D  :D

Keith,

I've asked Sal about the Para's MBC rating and he's said it's just shy at 180 inch/lbs. Not MBC, but plenty strong for me.
