First of i want to say Howdy and Thank-you Spyderco for a great knife! I just got this knife and a ukpk last monday.

When first holding this knife and opening it up, it felt very big for some reason and i didn't think i would care for it at first. But now i like this blade a lot. this knife is one that had to grow on me.
I got a pretty sweet date on my box, AK, or january 2011

I can't really speak of the cpm s30v much since i haven't had it long but it came very sharp out of the box and slices like a razor. Ive used this knife in the kitchen a few times since monday and i have to say this is one great food prep knife!

The Lock on mine was supersticky. So sticky it wouldn't even close sometimes when trying to disengage it. However it didn't bother me since i knew it would eventually wear in and become smooth, but when i was opening closing it on the 3rd day the ball bearing rubbing on the blade when opening/closing the blade sounded gritty, i don't think there was any dirt or grit but it was rough from the metal bearing rubbing against the metal tang. So i put some olive oil on the ball bearing with a tooth pick to smooth it back out. That worked and its as smooth as my manix now. Also some must have gotten in the lock itself because it no longer sticks and feels smooth to unlock.

Action Shot:cool:

The G10 was alot more grippy than i remember the manix 2 being when i first got it but i guess thats just cause i don't remember, if the manix 2 was that grippy before than its lost alot of grip.

I love the Camo g10 on this Knife! black was getting boring. And i love how you can almost see through the g10 its so cool Ill be sure to show you some pics.:D

The Belly is very nice. I love it when a blade has constant curve no straight spots, just like the manix2, its great! The is also a good blade angle that put the blade angled slightly downward. The tip on this thing is very picky, its bit me a few times:p

The handle on this knife is very ergonomic and fits like a glove. It feels about the same as a manix, but a little better. When your holding this knife in your hand it feels like itd take a vice to pull it outta your hand, and it has great jimping. Pocket clip it also nice, I like the satin clip on the camo it matches good.

Nice knife and nice review. Thanks for all the pics. This knife has turned out to be just about the perfect EDC.

Nice review and good clear pics. I always spray some RemOil on my folders when I get them , then a blast of canned air and then just a bit more oil -- helps to get any factory "grit" out of them.

nice =) The dlc coated one would be much cooler!
Btw, AK means jan 2011? so... AJ means jan 2010?

Knife looks great & great review. May I ask where did you order it from? The reason I ask is some folks ordered it online & received a scratched or factory second knife. Thanks

I ordered it from knifecenter. My knife is not a factory second. Factory second knives from spyderco are clearly marked with a notch cut out of the blade on the spin

I totally agree with everything that you said! I'll add my two cents from my own Paramilitary 2 experience. I originally traded into a regular version plain s30v blade and black g10 handle. I liked it so much that I bought the CF sprint run! I then traded back my para 2 to someone else to enjoy.

Anyone who doesn't own a paramilitary 2...........get one! I choose it over the millie because it just works better for most cutting tasks in which the millie is just too big.

Here's a close up shot of the Peel-Ply carbon fiber. It's just gorgeous!

A close up of the compression lock fully engaged. I sits nicely right in the center of the lock bar.

It fits nicely in my hand. I have mediums sized hands. Probably more on the small side, but the ergonomics on this knife are just top notch! It is very comfortable for extended in hand use despite my initial concerns that the compression lock might create hot spots. None whatsoever for me! The jimping is nice and sharp letting you grip up tighter for more precise cuts. I actually find the blade to be a little thick for food prep, but its so sharp that it works just fine.

Here ya go hope you enjoy!
