Having bought my first Spyderco a couple of weeks ago (a UKPK) I decided I definitely needed another.

My Para2 turned up this morning and I'm blown away by how nice it is. This is a slippery slope..... :D

Love the Para 2. I've got two.

I love the slimness of the design, the handle to blade ratio, and the compression lock. I just like everything about it!

Congrats on your purchase.

You are right about the slippery slope. The PM2 was the first knife I ever purchased that was over $100. I was blown away by how nice it was compared to most of the knives I had been buying. Now it seems every knife I get is expensive... Watch yourself!

Awesome purchase.
The Para2 has been touted as the best EDC overall.
I've got 3 in different G-10 colors.

para 2 is great it really is, check out the gayle bradley next , It's a must have for any spyderco fan.

Yep, its one of my favorite knives. I also like the UKPK alot. You have a couple of nice ones.

Same here...PM2 was my first (& thus far only) knife over $100...now I have three of them, looking for my 4th! (have DLC/digicam, satin/digicam, satin/black...looking for the final standard model, the DLC/black).

Simply fabulous knife!!!

Thanks all

An m390 Para2 or similar would be nice next

I wasn't sure about the Gayle Bradley until I read through the thread and it really changed my mind.

IMO for an all around do everything knife, you can not do better. Not too big, not too small, amazing ergonomics, slices well but still thick and strong and reasonably light for its size.

Next to the Sage series, I think the PM2 is a candidate for the best "all-around, all-purpose" Spyderco knife.

I've got several of them, including this beauty, which is one of my favorites:

You picked a mighty fine model for your second Spyderco. Enjoy!

I think they made a good first choice: the UKPK.

I carry the PM2 and the UKPK everyday and I mostly use the UKPK. My only gripe about the UKPK is that it doesn't lock so I plan to get a super blue caly3 which has an identical handle shape.

In case the UKPK doesn't cut it though I still have a PM2 with me. I've got most of my daily bases covered with those two.

How many PM2 sprints and/or exclusives has the OP set his sights on yet? :) It looks like you're in the UK. So what's the deal? I know you can't carry a PM2 in public, but it's still legal to purchase one and carry it at home?

Yeah you're right, you can't EDC a PM2 over here which is why I got a UKPK. Perfectly legal to own though

Don't really know how many sprint runs I'll end up with.

I have a couple of PM2's and IMO they are hard to beat by any other Spyderco. I have other Spyderco's on my wish list and they might or might not be better for me. I don't mind buying another knife to try out, but I could also stop with the PM2 and just use it.

The Manix seems to be very similar at a little less cost. The superleaf is similar but with a thicker blade. The military is obviously significantly longer. The Gayle Bradley has different blade steel. I decided the Manix and Superleaf wouldn't be any better for me but I'm interested in a Military and GB. I'm also interested in a Vallotton and they are a lot different from other Spydercos.

Very nice knife choices.
I really like the UKPK and have owned several.
I love the Para 2 as well.
Very great knives. And you're right it's all downhill from here lol.
