Paracord baldric for BK2

Okay, so not really a baldric, but I find myself throwing a strap on the BK2 and carrying it over my shoulder. I also get bored easily, so I braided about 45' of paracord, made a couple loops out of it and there you go. Also shown, first bottom rivet removed from sheath to lessen retention. I think this is reducing wear from inserting / removing the blade (or the part that was rubbing is wearing away).

Cool idea! What that you have on the back of the sheath???

Plastic box a little bigger than a deck of cards. Was a small FAK giveaway from a drug company or something. I have a fresnel lens, matches, tinder, fatwood, compass, snare wire, bandaids, benadryl, immodium, mirror, fish hooks, large eye needle and waxed cord, ferro rod, small bic lighter, etc. Good fire kit, bare bones everything else. Attached with ranger bands. I had it on the front side, but it sits better on the backside - fits under the belt loop nicely.

This is a better pic - the box is white, I have it wrapped in electrical tape to keep it tight, water resistant.

Paperairplane, next time you get bored, I'll trade you something to make me a rig like that...

brilliant! I wouldn't carry my 2 that way but a 9 most definitely...

Done - but you could do so yourself easy enough. Get 3 pieces of paracord, could be all same color, all different, whatever - braid them together and voila!

If you want one, send me a PM and we'll work it out.

How difficult was it to carve that tamper (I'm assuming that's what it is...)? I'm likin' that.
It is indeed a pipe tamper. Not hard - I carved it out of green sycamore. It took me about a half dozen tries before I had any wood spirits that I liked. I am a very amateurish wood carver, but I try and carve something every day. My spoons are getting there slowly.

That's pretty cool. Can you take a pic longways with the paracord going up or wearing it? I'd like to see how far down you have it hanging.

I wear it cross body - so it hangs on my right. I keep it right at belt level. If you want to move it, just tie the knot where it suits you.

Interesting. That would be good for camping/hunting.

Can you tell me the name of the knot you used at the end of your BK11 wrap and the one at the end if they are different? Looks like your pinky can either grab the knot or be slung in between them for a better grip, I like it.

I end the wrap so both ends go through the bottom hole in opposite directions. Then a Matthew Walker knot. Then the pinkie loop, then another walker knot. I use the Walker knot because I want the knot to lay horizontal to the spine of the blade. I use the pinkie lanyard a lot - on a blade like the BK11, it gives you more control, extends the grip and gives retention. But, you don't have a long lanyard - which helps with concealment on a neck knife.

I would also like to see a pic of that rig being worn, it looks good. Also what is the weave you did on the BK2 thong slide???
Thanks

Cobra stitch, soloman bar, portugese sinnet - same knot, different names. The lanyard is paracord, the white overwrap is window blind cord. (Ace hardware $2)

Thanks. I thought it would help with that. I'm gonna have to wrap mine up and do something similar. I think the pinkie lanyard style would be very functional.
