Disclaimer: I am in no way associated with the guys selling this item. I merely happened (luckily) across it yesterday morning at a local farmers market, where they had a booth set up.
-----------------
Yesterday, after my son's soccer game, we went to a local farmer's market to pick up some incredible artichokes that we found on a previous trip there. While checking out all the booths I ran across a man selling something that caught my eye instantly - a paracord bracelet with a celtic type weave. He had a nicely set up display booth, with many varieties on hand. He offers them in different colors, but the camo type ones appealed to me naturally. I purchased one for myself and one as a gift for a friend.
They are made with either a 2 or 3 strand weave, which is displayed on his website. Yes! He has a website fortunately. He told me that if he didn't have on hand what I wanted he would take an order and then bring it the next time he was at the market. Presumably, he might ship also. I mentioned to him that his bracelets may do rather well at bladeforums.com, since the paracord keychain and knife fobs sell well. He seemed interested and took down the website info.
The inside of the bracelet has a wool felt liner, which is bonded with adhesive to the paracord. His company name, Angus MacKnot, is embroidered into this interior lining. He also had bracelets with stones or emulets (sp?) attached (adhesive?) on the outside. A young man helping him at the booth had one with those aggresive looking "dog-collar" (goth, biker?) studs around the outside for an unusual look. He includes a nice little tag explaining a bit of celtic lore and care instructions - wash in cold water, air dry. Nicely put together, a professional product in my opinion. I may purchase a couple more as the price is very reasonable.
I felt like putting up a nice plug for him for two reasons - one is it's a nice, quality product and I felt that fellow bladeforumites may like them. Two, he seemed like a nice guy and when my 7 yr old son (who's a Fred Sanford-like collector of almost every trinket type object, to the point of driving me crazy!) mentioned that he liked a certain rock (yep, just one of his "collections") on the man's display table, they told him that he could have the rock, no charge. Just for clarification, it wasn't just a rock one could find at the gravel pit, but something one would probably pay a few dollars for at a gem/mineral show. It was a nice gesture.
Their website is www.angusmacknot.com
If you visit or email them, tell them a certain customer in CV pointed you their way pls.
He apparently frequents the craftshows and I'm not sure if he wants to set up for internet orders/shipping, etc. He may just need a nudge.
Overall, a big
Here's a pic of the one I bought on my wrist, with some other celtic stuff. I suppose he recognized a sure buy when I approached his booth wearing my Thor's Hammer chain/pendant.
