Where is the best place or what is the best source on ways to, I guess braid is the word, paracord to make a fob or knife d-handle??

Normally I can screw up a granny-knot...

I am not quite understanding the question.

Do you want to know how to do a complete paracord wrap?
If so www.striderknives.com has a link on their front page

If wondering how to end a wrapp off so it looks good. E-mail me
eich1@lvcm.com And I will send ya so pics.

Look for a book on knots with a section on decorative knots. The "crown sinnet" is a popular knot for a knife/keychain fob. That's what's on a lot of my knives.

Good luck

Eich, thanks for the links. Actually, I was looking for a fob-style method. This would let me attach a length of paracord as a D-handle then use the extra as a fob, say 4-6 inches long.

I essentially want to use it to carry paracord in a compact form, and "braided" takes up less space.

Ahh ok try doing a monkeys fist "knot" I carry one on my key chain and you can use alot of rope to make one and it stays rather compact, depending on the size of ball you use in the middle.

Here is a good link.

Its hard to learn it, and will take several trys but youll be happy with the end result. I like using 5mm climbing rope insted of paracoard for this because it is easyer to tie and will stay looking cleaner after carrying it if you use a stiffer rope.

I find the best way is to tie it tight then pull through one of the loops to make a way of attaching it to something. Then cut the ends short and tuck them into the knot.
e-mail me if you get stuck.

Carpe Noctem is right crown sinnet is also a good idea.
