I hate naming threads, the ones that I post that actually pick up some replies always have the worst names and then I have to look at them all the time. So I thought I'd keep this one simple.
Paracord for your JK knife.

For anyone who doesn't know I am planning on sending a few pararcord dongles to JK to include in some of his orders. This is just a small attempt to get with the kind an generous spirit of Bladeforums and the JK subforum. I'm not a professional, I don't sell these, so you have to take them for what the are (like me, more heart then skill
)
I'm limiting this to anyone with a JK knife order for a number of reasons:
1) it's the forum I spend the most time on
2) I only have so much paracord
3) ^^^^^^^^^^^^ time
4) I'm a meaner - my eldest son tells me this now and again so it must be true
If you want or would like a paracord lanyard for your JK order, I will make it for you. I have some limits:
1) I only have blue, a very small amount of gray and some gray digi camo type cord seen in the pictures to offer. When it runs out, it runs out
2) I only really practice three knots a) rattlesnake fob, b) Barnacle knot (there are a lot of ways to play with tis one though, c) ranger bead
3) Money and time - i will do it as fast as I can and if you want me to put it on your knife directly you'll have to ship it here and back, if you're willing to put it on yourself it costs shipping, (I'm guessing under a $1 - I'll check this)
I also reserve the right to be busy, I'll get to it, and if you send me your knife I'll always have it back to you when i say or whenever you say, but beyond that life may get in the way of speedy delivery,
, sorry
I'm willing to offer advice or instructions on how to get the things on a knife, as best I can.
If you have questions, post here, if you want one, post here.
This offer is open to anyone with a JK on order. Or any Proud supporter of JK Knives, order or no
Here are some pictures from the lot I'm getting ready to send to JK (there will be 28 of them)
Ranger bead:
Quick, simple, uber useful and safe (it can be pushed to the top so the lanyard won't snag on anything while you're walking around, it'd just be two pieces of paracord.) It's my favorite for any knife that needs a lanyard instead of just a finder/puller toggle...but it can work for that as well, see my JK baby Kephart:
Barnacle Knot Some variations:
There was some interest in how I used this knot to hold my JK firesteel with the anniversary EDC:
I don't know how well this works as a regularly thing (if you try to pull it out an put it back in often), and it is imposisble to do without the firesteel. But if you really want I'll try to find a stick or something to use in place holder and ship it out to you. You may just end up with a barnacle knot thats too tight to fit the firesteel.
Rattlesnake fob:
On a JK anniversary knife (FYI I think the blue really looks good on the maple burl, phew)
For the package I'm getting ready for John I did something a little extra
As you can see here I've put on a ranger bead to the end of the rattlesnake fob, don't know why, might be useful, but I like the two colors together thing, why not. These ones are for the package I'm sending to John so I thought I'd take the time to make them a bit different.
Given this cost you money (even a $1 is money I know, believe me
) I'm putting together a pack of 28 paracord lanyards I will soon ship many of them out to John. He will then own them. He can give them out or dance around them while singing la bamba, heck, he can use them as earnings if he sees fit. I don't want this to become a burden, I'm trying to cerate positive feelings here after all,
I've done a mix of all of the ones mentioned here - many of them are pictured above - John may ask people if and what they want, he may ask for requests, he may pick out which he thinks looks best or put them them in a pile/trash can and forget about them, then you can bother me for one and not the craftman at work, which is the last thing any of us want, after all we've got knives waiting in black
I will keep some of hem so I can send them out myself if anyone wants, ad 'm working on more, although i best stop soon to leave some paracord for anyone who wants something specific,
Lastly I made this thing, no idea what is is, I was just messing with barnacle knots, I put a toggle on this toggle thing it could be attached to a belt, maybe a impromptu hawk/axe holder? no idea, but thought I'd throw it out there to.
