You guys always seem to know stuff like this, but I still apologize if it's out of place in this forum.

I'm looking for a good online source for black paracord (around 300 feet minimum) and gaffer's tape (preferably one inch, but I'm not picky). I'd love if it was the same place so I could combine shipping, but I can do seperate if necessary; I just can't seem to find either of them online at any reliable looking places. I'm sure I'm missing one or two obvious spots -- help me out?

Thanks,
James

Cheaper than dirt has mil spec parachute cord like this

This seven strand cord has braided nylon outer with a cushioned inner which makes it super strong. We sell this in 1,000 foot rolls. New - multiple uses. Original US military spec cord.

1000 feet for $34.97

or 100 feet of 550 cord for $3.97

Heard bad things about CTD; I'll go with Sportsman's Guide. Thanks, the both of you.

Oh, and while I'm here; Sportsman's Guide has gaffer's tape (they call it military duct tape) too.

Or maybe not. $8.00 shipping is a bit much. I'll shop around a little.

Anyone else?

What's wrong with CTD? They have always done good by me and my friends I have referred to them. Granted, their used items are, well, USED but the only problem with them I have is my buying all the stuff they sell that I wanted! So I don't have a reason to buy there anymore.:(

Been buying from them for quite a long time, no problems here :)

Same same for the other guys at work.

Brothers & Sisters of Steel, Para-cord, et alia,

This humble knave is spoiled by the proximity of CTD. Perhaps 15 miles!
CTD is a business like any other, however, should you encounter difficulty ALWAYS contact the management.
They will have what you need and are willing to go an extra mile when push comes to shove.

i have had excellent experience with both of these companies and would definately do business with them again.

if you find a better price on the paracord and tape let us know.

Overall, CTD is a great place to do business with, EXCEPT when they no longer have the item you want in stock, but still list it as such. I have on a couple of occasions ordered items that I really needed, and been told that they weren't in stock. And then given the run-around when I asked why they list stuff in their catalog that they KNOW they only have 2 of?! Other than that, they've been fine. But it only takes a couple of experiences like that to sour a long-time customer. I haven't bought anything from them in a long while, and will think about it pretty hard before I order from them again.

As far a gaffers tape is concerned I don't know it by that name but I find many many uses for standard old silver colored duct tape.

For 550 para cord this is the cheapest place I have found so far and they have it in black, green, and white in 300' rolls;
Mimphis Net & Twine Co. Inc. 1-800-238-6380 or e-mail at:
memnet@memphisnet.net
The O.D. and black are $12.98/spool and the white is $11.49/spool.

Hold onto the seat o' yer pants if you wasnt prepared for red!

I was at a gun-show the other day, saw Neon Green, Neon Yellow, Neon Pink/Red, Blue, and Orange, as well as red white and O/D/ and black.

O am a professional photographer and use gaffer tape regularly. I get in at several local (New York City) pro supply houses. If you are in a large city, chect the local phone book for the largest camera store and you should find gaffer tape there. If you can't find it locally, e-mail me and I will put you in touch with one of my suppliers.
