That is how I learned to make mine. Worked great. I was surprised at how easy it was to make.

just my opinion but it seems like bear grylls tacticool fashion. i just keep my paracord in little wraps in my bag.. works good enough for me

Yeah ive made a few para cord bracelets...they are pretty fun to make and are great gifts!

You can also make a D guard out of paracord for your knife, or wrap your sheath, for an extra 15 feet or so just to have with you.
