Well I was at my local army surplus store and picked up some paracord
simply because I have seen it talked about so much. the only things I know about it are that its strong and makes a good knife handle. So what i'm asking is, what are the other uses for paracord?

Also while there I picked up a Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter and boy this is a sweet knife! . The blade shape is perfect and the handle is the most comfortable I have ever held compared to any knife, even some fixed blades.

Paracord has so many uses it's almost ridiculous. If you want to wrap something with it semi-permanently, soak the cord in hot water first, then wrap it good and TIGHT and let it dry slowly. I've found it stays put really well that way and doesn't loosen up. It can hold a smell if it gets soaked with something nasty but not too big a deal. You can also slip the inner strands out of the covering and use it for thread, fishing line, whatever; the empty outer sheath left will still be useful, but of course not as strong as it started.

Weaving - nets, bed frame, hammock, containers, snow shoes. Lashing - equipment, poles, shelter. Line for fishing, traps, to elevate food to protection it from animals, putting up a tarp tent. As a thread for repairing tents, tarps and other fabric. Lanyards and fobs to keep from losing vital equipment. Lacing for boot etc. Handles around tools. String for sling (medical on arm and weapon), fire bow, bow maybe even a crude musical instrument. Lots more

When I bought a 300ft spool of paracord, I really didn't think that I would be able to use it all. Now I regret not buying the 1000ft spool. I probably only have around 30 ft or so left. I use it to tie things and stuff you would generally use string for. Most of my cord went into lanyards and bracelets though. I did use it to wrap my BK11 handle.
