Where do you folks buy your paracord from?

I did a search on www.froogle.com and found many places, but I'm skeptical to buy from someone I never have before.

I also see like 100' and 1000' rolls. Can I buy just say like 5' or 10'? I don't know that I could use 100' of that stuff up in my lifetime :).

I'm looking for some that is like combo colored like maybe red/white or black/red etc. I've only been finding solid colors or camo online.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks T. Erdelyi !

I wonder if there are any places, like Walmart, that would have it so I could just walk in and buy it today?

:)

Any good sporting goods store should have some. I bought some at an Eastern Mt. Sports. Price probably will be higher.

Army/Navy surpluss stores will also have some; if ya got any of those in your area.

Bit off topic, but when you tie a simple lanyard on your knife, do you 'debone' the paracord? Thanks.

Check out any outdoor/camping oriented stores in your area. Craft stores also have cord that is good for lanyards.

I buy climbing accessory cord at local climbing shops, it costs more than paracord but is available in many sizes (diameter), colors and patterns and can be bought by the meter (or foot in the USA). Here's a place that I just found in a Google search:

I do the same, I got tired of looking for proper mil-spec para cord that I could use in an emergency while hiking and finding a shop that posts overseas. I just bought 100' of 5mm climbing cord instead from REI.

The stuff is so cheap you're best just buying it from someone you know has the good stuff and a good assortment. I get mine from TAD Gear. I keep a bundle in the back of my SUF for tying things down, etc.
