I know the Becker stock grivory grips are a handful and too damned comfy, but any of y'all ever wrap paracord over them or even just replace the handles on your BK with cord wrap?

i just replaced my necker's paracord wrap with new micarta handles.

the micarta handles are alot more comfortable and i used to wonder about how sanitary the paracord wrap would be....

I never wrapped a Becker, mainly because it would make the handle way too thick, or way too thin if you removed the scales and just wrapped the bare handle.

However, I did wrap the handle on my Kershaw Outcast because the stock neoprene covering was too thin for my ham hocks. It worked good for making it bigger. The "grippiness" is adequate, and the lanyard I incorporated in the wrap ain't goin' nowhere, that much is for sure. But it made the handle hard as a rock. Took all the shock absorption qualities of the neoprene away. It really isn't comfortable to use anymore, so if I ever need to use it much, I'll probably unwrap it and thicken up the handle by some other means.

Here's a pic of the Outcast. Looks alright I guess, just ain't comfy at all anymore.

I like to wrap the small knives if they don't have any grips on them. Truth be told Paracord wraps suck on big knives, at least to me they do. They seem to move around no matter how tight I get them.

The reason I asked is that the Machax I bought the first time off the guy in my company was wrapped when I got it. I've been thinking of trying to replicate the wrap he did. It wasn't too big for my hand and didn't really move around too much, but yeah it wasn't very "grippy".

I have a BK9 from Camillus and I para cord wrapped it and left the inner strands to provide some cushion along tang. For some reason when i first got it I didnt like the stock grips. Then company went out of business ect so i revisited the knive and actually found where i stored the original grips and I like the feel of them now.

I dit it on my Bk-9.

I removed took away some of the handle material with a grindr, also I removed the inner-strangs of the paracord, so it wouldn't be to bulky. I putted both end of the paracord together in order to create a "guard" so that the knife can't "fly" out of my hand when chopping.

I've contemplated wrapping a BK5 w/o scales. Although, I do not own a 5...... yet.

I finally wrapped my BK11, but none of the larger knives yet. Maybe a three day weekend will help me find the time.
